Dear Parents,
I hope that everyone had a good half term. Teachers were back in school on Monday and spent most of the day working on school self-evaluation. The time was spent usefully.
We welcome Mrs. Hurlock back in school following her period of maternity leave. Mrs. Hurlock will teach Yr.3 from Monday to Wednesday.
Road Safety Show
The whole school assembled in the hall on Tuesday morning for a spectacular road safety show. The presentation was lively and very noisy! Children heard the important message that crossing the road can be very dangerous and that they should always stop, look, listen and think.
LEPRA
Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause. Children enjoyed a street dance session on the Friday before half-term. This was a thank you from LEPRA for children’s generosity. We raised over £500.
I am aware that we make many requests for charitable donations. Families are always very generous and give to many good causes through the school. We do appreciate your contributions but if you are not happy to donate, please do not feel obliged.
Non uniform day
The PTA have requested a non uniform day on Friday 13th November. In return for not wearing uniform, we would be grateful to receive contributions that can go towards Christmas hampers to be raffled after our Christmas performances. Thank you once again for your support here.
Operation Christmas Child 2009
Thank you to all families who have sent in so many beautiful boxes. We are collecting donations in a large box in the staff room. We have until Friday 20th November to organise our collection so please don’t delay, If you need any empty boxes/leaflets, please see Mrs Wells, Mrs Pruthi or Mrs Skillings.
Dinner Money
Please write cheques to Claverdon School as all dinner money is now collected in the school office. Thank you. Any queries regarding dinner money, please see Sheila in the office.
Entrance to school
Safeguarding children is a high priority for us all; for this reason we are changing the door system. We are going to lock the second set of doors so that Mrs. Murrell and Mrs. Chamberlain can see people safely into the building. Please comment on this system as we conduct a trial.
Parking
We have had a message from an irate resident in Langley Road. A car was parked across a resident’s drive and a delivery van was unable to unload goods to the house. The resident photographed the car and has sent a complaint to Warwickshire police. Please show consideration to our neighbours, thank you.
Best wishes,
Kate Gover
